About the artist.

Born and raised in London, KASSEUS is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist whose practice traverses fashion photography, urban documentation, digital art, paper collage, fine art, textiles, 3D modelling, projection mapping and music production. Working fluidly across these mediums, he constructs a hybrid visual language that merges the polished precision of studio portraiture with the distressed materiality of the urban environment. His compositions, at once meticulous and raw, evoke a tension between aspiration and entropy, beauty and abrasion, clarity and chaos.

In an age defined by the pursuit of flawless imagery, shaped by fashion photography’s immaculate surfaces, algorithmically optimised filters, and the frictionless aesthetics of AI-generated art, KASSEUS turns deliberately toward the imperfect. Embracing creases, rips, scuffs, weathered textures, and the stubborn tactility of paper, he foregrounds the fragility and resilience of the human condition. These distressed elements, layered against the immaculate contours of his photographic subjects, present a compelling dialogue: the aspirational ideal of contemporary image culture contrasted with the lived, imperfect textures of humanity. The result is work that reveals beauty not in perfection, but in the friction between what we strive for and what we cannot escape.

Today, although he has transitioned fully into mixed media art, KASSEUS continues to photograph all models and urban textures that appear within his work, ensuring that the human presence and environmental foundations remain personally sourced. These primary elements intersect with additional textures drawn from fashion magazines and print media, which he deconstructs and reconfigures into new visual forms. The interplay between authored and appropriated material underscores his ongoing exploration of image circulation, material memory, and the shifting boundaries of contemporary collage.

Through his immersive, textural, and often somber compositions, KASSEUS invites viewers to contemplate the spaces where digital perfection fractures, revealing something raw, human and quietly hopeful beneath.
